The English speaking staff was exceptionally helpful with information and our numerous needs. The rooms are beautiful and the location very convenient to the Rialto Bridge, shopping and water transportation. Bathrooms very modern and comfortable. The location was a bonus as it was near the rialto and not to far from St Marks square . It is an authentic hotel in the heart of Venice and has lots of eating & cafe places near to hand. Shopping is also very accessable.

This hotel has depending on the location of your room a lot of street noise . We were located with our window to the street and a cocktail bar was noisy into the small hours , however this would not discourage me from staying here again .

good location, clean and comfortable, good breakfast, helpful staff. as I was travelling with my grown up daughters I liked that the room was laid out on a split level and we had enough privacy without having to book two rooms. Next time I would go straight to Fondamente nova from the airport with Alilaguna as the roads are far less crowed then from the stop of Rialto, especially on a weekend. The only thing we felt was missing, was some sort of reception lounge with chairs and tables as the reception was tiny, but we could leave our luggage there on arrival before we could check in and also all day before our night flight back home. The road outside is quite noisy until about 10pm, when the juice bar on the corner shuts down, but the nights were quiet apart from a very noisy family with kids running wild around midnight. Still, great;location, very clean, would definitely go back.,

It s location, and a sweetheart called Federica at the reception, not just efficient but also warm and friendly. Wouldn't say this about the others ( we met at least 4)

Being ladies on a long tour around Europe we had a lot of luggage, so the gentleman at reception carried our luggage up the stairs ( quite long and winding stairs up the second floor) got genouresly tipped, yet same person for no obvious reason refused to even help bring those down. The stairs litteraly broke our backs. Wi-fi ridiculously over priced. In Milano in a much bigger, much nicer hotel much more elegant and slightly more pricy, wi-fi for half the price, in Rome in a b&b for free.. Advice travel light, and use Internet with moderation.

No coffee/tea making facility, bed settee uncomfortable to sit on and the shower had extremely mouldy grouting which is a pet hate of mine.

Very refined, elegant, typical Ventian style, warm and romatinc atmosphere, enchanting classical-style rooms, recently refurbished, well- maintened in all details. Very happy of our choice.

We liked the room decor very much, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the location was great. Overall, we loved the hotel and whenever we go back to Venice, we will choose again to stay at this hotel.

As a small downside was the bed - which although was a Queen size, it was in fact made out of two smaller beds so the middle part was uncomfortable. And the water pressure in the shower wasn't great. And also the cell signal was sometimes inexistent so it was difficult to make phone calls or send messages from the room.

The Antico Doge is a beautifully maintained hotel located very close to the Rialto Bridge. Venice is a small city, you'll walk everywhere and so while many hotels will be central enough for your needs, the Antico Doge is particularly close to the action. The staff were always friendly and helpful, our room was pretty big, comfortable, warm and impeccably clean. The breakfast was lovely. I'd have to recommend you choose the Antico Doge.

We were very happy with our stay but if I am going to highlight any negatives, I'd say two things. 1: it is expensive. Venice is an expensive city so there's few cheap choices but if you're on a budget, there are cheaper alternatives. If you can afford it though, this hotel is lovely. 2: In this day and age, the fact that I have to walk down to the reception and pay €5 for an hour's worth of wi-fi is crazy. (Especially when you consider how much we already paid.) I've stayed in hostels that offered free wi-fi and there are cafes in Venice that offer it free too. This is an anachronism. These are minor complaints - I knew the price when I booked it and I can live with paying for wi-fi, if you can too, I recommend you stay here.

Location was good, although our room was directly above a bridge over a small canal in a fairly busy location so could get a little noisy. We were on the 1st floor, I think any other level not right above the bridge would be fine. The building was beautiful and the room very nicely furnished in a classic way. We had a nice stay, walking distance to everything.

As above, was a little noisy being right over the footbridge, and the "canal view" was a little limited, you could mostly see the bridge and the square and street opposite, but still probably nicer than being on the other side of the building with no view. Tea and Coffee facilities in the room would have been nice too, and there was nothing available from the bar after coming home from dinner. Remember to pick up a hot drink on your way home if you want one late in the evening!

Beautiful hotel! A five minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, this hotel has a location that can't be beat. With top service and comfort this hotel completed the unforgettable experience that is Venice.

Beautiful washroom. Good breakfast. Spacious room. Helpful and friendly staff. Good location. Clean room.

TV turned on by itself a few times. Quite hot in the room. Very old and scary for a kid.

The room was large, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel does not waste space on large public rooms or other facilities that we did not need.

The breakfast area is quite small and there are not enough tables for all guests to eat simultaneously. We did not have a problem, but were aware of others having to wait for a table to come free.
